"What games stays in alpha for 11 years"  (talks about star citizen)

If you compare to cyberpunk they were in development for 8 years. Had a AAA Company backing them up. and Look what kind of mess that game was. And they removed a whole section/chapter of the game to rush it out.

By rushing out cyberpunk riddled with glitches and bug. While also removing a whole chapter of the game. CD Projekt Red tarnished their reputation.  A lesson other developers can learn.

To star citizens defence. They are developing 2 games(Star Citizen MMO and Squadron 42 Single player chapter) while also building their engine from ground up.

As someone who is a hobby game dev of limited experience, I can say that the overwhelming majority of people do not understand how much work development is.

Making one animation for one action can take weeks.

Making one high quality model can take weeks.

Understanding how to problem solve with game code in small steps takes years of daily practice.

Same with learning to draw excellent concept art.

Now apply that to a game this immense, I can understand how this can be a lifetime endeavor for a small team even when they fully understand their tools and skills.

Game dev can't be rushed.

Ive always looked at star citizen as an investment to better games.

The only way to break out of the CoD, Battle royale, copy and paste is to support a crazy over ambitious indie project and hope they arent gonna steal your money, like Chronicles of elyria.
