You can check in but with the mysterious bars on the windows and locks on the outside of doors, you can never leave.....the mass quarantine camps.

To be fair, how else do you control it? You can't trust dead men walking to quietly stay home and not spread. Most will be too sick to move, but they still need to go to the store and grab supplies, or send someone that's in contact with them.

We haven't lived through a plague in over 80 years. (I think Polio, malaria, and small pox were the last big ones.) We are going to see some things that arn't pretty if this doesn't get locked down.

A thought that I haven't seen posted yet. What happens if the money supply becomes contaminated? Last I heard the virus can live 12 - 18 hours outside the body.

Which means that even if people are sending loved ones to the store with an envelope under the door for expenses, that could still be a threat.

Cash isn't much of a thing in China. They use phones to pay for stuff.

Saw a video of this dude making it crystal clear to a crowd of people standing outside of one of these that they are not hospitals. They are quarantine camps, and they don't want anyone who can't take care of themselves. There will be no medical care of any kind. No pills, shots, or anything like that. You bring your own shit, or you get a family member to, or you can fuck off. This is what they tell people in China, while news outside of China calls them hospitals.

I don't know. I saw it last night, cut together with a video of some woman videoing the inside of one of these places. It's just a bunch of beds. No doctors or nurses. No medical equipment. It's sole purpose is containment.

Its purpose is containment + caring for sick people.

There are 8+ makeshift quarantine facilities for patients with mild symptoms (converted gyms etc) but these emergency hospitals are pretty functional with MRI machines, proper air filtering etc. The entire city of Wuhan is basically a containment facility rn - people have been ordered to stay home, not allowed to drive without special license, highways out of the city physically blocked etc.

Makes sense the hospital was empty, it's only just been built & didn't have patients yet.

This video is from 2 hours ago, it's the first 30 people arriving at Leishenshan Hospital:

This is the video of the lady showing the inside and talking about how there is no medicine. I saw a different version last night that has another vid attached to the end of a Chinese guy in a face mask behind some barrier telling people it's not a hospital, and they only want people that can take of of themselves. Not sure how to find that one. It was just linked from Reddit or Twitter.

That's not a hospital, that's a makeshift quarantine facility. There are ways of cleaning yourself that don't involve showers. The main thing is probably that there are nurses around to monitor their health & also to keep them from infecting others. It's a highly contageous disease & if they stay home they'll likely infect their families. There's no medicine that can treat the disease yet. Patients who get really sick go into ICU at a hospital - drip, oxygen etc.

I saw this one too. I don't think we know conclusively that her neck was broken. Some people were theorizing she might've just played dead to get them to stop manhandling her. I'm inclinded to believe that because you can still see her breathing, and when they lift her, she's able to keep her head up (doesn't slump or wobble around).

Yeah or she passed out. That's what I assumed when I saw it last night. Funny how viral the videos & rumours are. All of a sudden people are picking apart every move in a city they never heard of 3 weeks ago.
