sounds like it's heavier and doesnt cover as much as commercial body armor, but better than nothing. and if it's for local militia, they probably don't have to do long marches with the extra weight

Looks fucking heavy. When you are marching, running and whatnot, every oz counts. Not much stops 5.56 or 7.62 rounds, cept ceramic plates and thick ass steel. Most helmets and body armor is just for shrapnel and small caliber. better off learning to shoot better and stay behind cover.
