yeah, like 12 metric tonnes of solid turret hitting good quality eastern block asphalt from a decent height will do that.

That is absolutely insane. The explosive force to blow a turret weighing that much that high in the air, boggles the mind.

i think that was an issue with russian tanks. no blowout panels but you can't have that when their shells are stacked conveniently in a ring around the turret base to service the auto loading system.

edit: and! the t72B was called the "dolly parton" because it's swole turret has the thickest armor on a russan tank.

but that didn't really help did it.
