Tesla's Competition Rivian can't drive into puddles without falling appart.

My Rivian Was Damaged By A Puddle - Full Service Experience

I forgot to add a description!   Doesn't look like tesla needs to worry about Rivian any time soon. Small water puddles are its kryptonite.

If small water puddles remove vehicle parts. I wonder what snow would do.

If there are only enough rare minerals we know about to replace about 10% of the worlds cars with electric vehicles, does that mean we expect a massive population decline, or some serious restrictions to the right to travel?

lol, this is not a tesla competition at all. This is a pick up truck, tesla does not produce one, the other car rivian offers is a full size SUV, which tesla doesn't produce neither.

Let us analyse what happened here:

  • Guy bought a truck from a new manufacturer, like with all new manufacturers teething problems will appear (they did and still do with teslas)
  • An under vehicle panel came off, the only purpose of which is aerodynamic, after driving through a puddle

This may have been a material error or installation fail. We also don't know anything about use of the vehicle prior to and more details of the incident, so this may have been damaged before when offroading or a piece of debris in the puddle may have caused the issue.

Item was replaced on good will as the owner is a youtuber.

yawn!

afaik BYD & VW are Tesla's main competition .. don't be surprised if BYD wins this decade .. or if the precious yanks lock it out of their market .. but it'll still win .. probly

Quite surprisingly the BYD Atto3 had a convincing performance in the NCAP crashtest.
