Old and fake news. It wasn't sales. Tesla hadn't processed rebates for their customers and they were informed that the program deadline looming were told to catch up. Which they are entirely allowed and encouraged to do within the guidelines of the incentive program.
It's not even about Tesla, its the customer's money. Tesla would simply process the rebate for the customer. It shouldn't hit Tesla's books at all.
But great to see the fake news on this. Everyone loves blaming Tesla.

This is not "fake news" at all. It is stating what occurred and looking to investigate the reasons. The time of occurrence is of course suspicious but if what you say is correct, and it was just "sloppy" processing it wouldn't be something inducing trust in the company neither, would it.
