It's unfortunate that some engineers who have great ideas but not the funds or business ability to bring their ideas to great fruition fail or get them taken away. I really like the Canoo vehicles and believe with deeper pockets they could've carved out a niche. Same for Nikola. Unfortunately both are in bankruptcy. Not because of lack of technology but more simply due to how expensive it is to start a new car company.

The world is accelerating the act of taking an idea to reality and with reduced cost. Just not quite there with vehicles yet.

I really loved the Canoo when I first saw it. Especially the larger all purpose utility vehicle which could be used as a delivery vehicle or as food van. Shame it isn't making headway, but its so much easier for the established businesses to pivot and lean on existing contacts to fulfil contracts that Canoo could have swiped.

NIKOLA was never even a vehicle, it just had the same fate earlier than the tesla semi, simply because battery tech is not there (and mey actually never be), never heard of the other one.

You are a tesla aficionado, you may even have shares in the company and, if what they say is correct, every technical "advancement" the company made which was spearheaded by elon was a huge failure (like the hyperloop and all the missions to mars, which apparently are going to happen next year, lol), you should be very interested in changes to the company!
The failures again:
Semi, Cybertruck, FSD (which they allegedly could do "now" some 8 years back but in reality never will with their camera tech), new roadster (with "rocket" propulsion, remember), taxi and the silly bus thing

Nikola has shipped BEV semi and has also produced 300 hydrogen fuel cell trucks. I believe Walmart Canada is already using them.

Dude, are you trying to troll me on Tesla? I'm actually very objective and happy to discuss both sides on many topics with someone who is willing to do the same but I don't think you want to.

Interesting, I thought the company was dead after the fraud trials as I hadn't heard anything about them any more..

It went from ~ $2000 to $20 if that's what you mean but didn't die. That was mostly Trevor from what I understand. He was a bit of a snake oil salesman but they did get rid of him. With that said, I have heard that some of the employees feel that he actually helped the company a lot with the vision and attention. There are a lot of engineers there who are just trying to make something great.

"helped with vision and attention.." More like riding the musk train of creating a hype over what they can do what in reality they can't. They didn't even have a prototype as far as I can remember, tesla at least did, even sold a few trucks, but their semi project using batteries is never going to get anywhere (at least with current battery tech), otherwise this would be plastered all over the news. A bit like the hyperloop. That is why nikola now goes down the fuel cell route, I guess.
