I got hearing problems. Had tubes in the ears as a kid. I need to be able to watch someone speaking to understand them. If there is background noise I cant single out someone talking unless I see their lips moving. Im guessing its how my brain developed with lack of hearing at an early age. Dont know really. Anyways, I cant understand hardly a fucking word people say in masks. I always had a hard time in school because of this, there has got to be many kids in the same boat doing way worse becuase of the masks.

Don't be a dick please. What he describes is perfectly valid. Imagine as a kid because of improper diagnosis or follow-up at the time, missing out on half the discussion eg each time the teacher turned to face the board. They've gotten better at catching such things in the new generation along with tracking early childhood development. But, think about all the casualties now that kids are being held back from attending class. It'll be almost as bad as the health issues in the adult population that will go undiagnosed and untreated.

0.003% of babies born are born with hearing problems. 0.001% chance of becoming deaf by the time they turn 18. we can't convince these people to do something to prevent 0.012% of the people that catch covid from dying. sure as shit chance we can convince them to do something for an even smaller group
