Try to spin it anyway you want its still use of deadly force, no different then shooting someone. To use your vehicle to stop a suspect you have to show that deadly force is/was authorized and vehicles are considered deadly weapons, especially when the person is on a freakin moped. Notice they never mention what they charged him with, what if he stole a candy bar worth a $1? Or a freakin traffic violation? Does that mean you get to kill someone over a dollar? Use of deadly force is only authorized for a fleeing violent felon, threat to public life or lives of the officers. You cant be freakin serious making the claim that a modep endangered the lives of people. That is not reasonable. Imagine a cop in the USA shooting someone becuase they tried to get away on a moped and the officers claimed he was in fear of his life becuase the moped was coming straight at him. Im sure that cop would be facing some charges himself. Whats next, use of deadly force on people riding away on a bicycle?

Clearly you are having trouble reading, so let me copy and paste what I wrote for you, again, "Use of deadly force is only authorized for a fleeing violent felon, threat to public life or lives of the officers. ". KNocking over a "grandma" and stealing her handbag would be considered a violent felony and use of deadly force would be authorized. The way this show makes it sound like and the way the officer explains it leads one to believe that use of deadly force(smacking someone with your car while they are on a moped) is authorized no matter what the crime as long as he is on a moped. What is what I am sayign so hard for you to comprehend?

the last cops tells you he was driving the moped on the walk path thru the park. then obviously, he tried to evade the police.
once you've escalated it to a motorized vehicle chase, it doesn't matter what kind of petty crime you did. doesn't matter what type of motorized vehicle your in or on. police will stop you, spike strips, pits, tactical contact or straight up shooting the tires out. its best not to flea at all

mopeds are driven on the road. you need a license to drive a moped. it can weight between 200-500 pounds and can reach speeds of 28 mph. imagine that flying down the sidewalk slamming into your kid. if you still think it it wouldnt endanger lives, here is the math
first. to figure out the mass. take the lightest moped, 200 lbs. put a 150 lbs rider on it. 350 lbs converts to 159 kg.
next is deceleration after slamming the moped into someone. say it took 0.05 seconds. so thats 28 mph converted into meters per second. that gives you 12.5 m/s. so deceleration is equal to (0m/s-12.5m/s)÷0.05=-250m/s^2
now for force. thats mass x acceleration. 159kg x 250 m/s^2 = 39,750 newtons of force. thats destination fucked, cause it only takes 4,000 newtons to break someones femur. but thats just math.
