Stay in School

Couple of things, starting wage for a teacher in my community, midwest USA, is about 50 grand and it goes up from there, the preschool director in my area makes about 120 grand.  I went to college and didn't work construction and my back, knees, neck, etc. are still intact and I don't have to take pain meds to get out of bed, I consider this a plus no matter how much money you make.  In my area, most construction is seasonal due to weather so you are unemployed 3-4 months out of the year so that cash wad he was flaunting would need to be split up so you had enough money for the winter.  Also, my education allowed me to retire at 37 and spend time with my wife and kids and in a pre-covid world we traveled all over.  Not sure you can do that with a construction job.  Now, I am not saying construction is not the way to go or that college is for everyone, but I know far more people "living the dream" long term who went to college than those that didn't.

most teachers in california are unemployed cuz of covid and construction workers are considered essential. Going to school to get a education is going to be like going to the record store in 5 years, enjoy ur life on welfare :)

A few of my friends are teachers in CA and they just teach their classes online now.  Ones elementary and the others are high school.  None of them lost work over Covid.
