Agree on news creating hysteria. But really do not like the comparison to the flu, it gives people a false sense of security. 1) we are still figuring this thing out and 2) the final death rates are coming in and will be until the outbreak is over.
The current rolling death rate for COVID-19 seems to be anywhere from 2-10% the flu is 0.2%.
Ro: Flu: 1.3%, COVID-19: 2.2% This is very significant, 10 iterations of the flu give 13.7 where 10 iterations of COVID-19 is 2,655.
We also have a chance to stop COVID-19 before it becomes a permanent addition like the flu.
SARS is all but gone, ideally we aren't comparing COVID-19 and flu outbreaks next year...
And of course what if the additive effectives of COVID-19 + flu every year...
its the same family of virus that causes the cold. I hear you could get it and mistake it for allergies or a mild cold and not even know.. People need to chill.
