I'm tired of JJ being blamed for The Last Jedi sucking and the whole trilogy taking a dumpster dive after that. He didn't have anything to do with it. It's Rian Johnson who wrote and directed that one and made the dumbass decision of completely disregarding the pieces set in place by JJ in the first one so he could make it "his own". He took a huge dump on JJ's plans by killing off pivotal characters and introducing incompatible plot elements. When JJ came back for the third one he had the impossible task of tying this whole mess back up together into something remotely coherent with a satisfying conclusion. And considering the shit sandwich he was handed I think he did an outstanding job.
