DIY Battery Spot Welder - Demonstration & Explanation

For anyone who wants to replace the rechargeable batteries in their cordless drill packs or similar. Awesomely simple!

 

I think I'll build it with the timer board though, so it is easier to use.

i have a cordless hilti rotart hamer drill i've been meaning to swap out the pack for.

this might be my motivation to get it done.

By the looks of it the timer doesn't work, so unless someone finds a millisecond timer it will have to be manual:

Maybe an Arduino board + relay for the timer.  

You can find lots of relay tutorials and simple timer codes for it.   Just upload the code and tweak the time.   

Chinese knock off will cost around 10 bucks, so not a huge loss if you can't get it to work.
