Before more people that refuse to try to comprehend what I am saying complain: I do not think what the cop did was a good job, I simply think there is even worse behaviour following the man falling. People are upset about the man being pushed. To give the officer the benefit of the doubt imho he just tried to make a point and pushed the man too hard. If the old man wouldn't have stumbled going backwards probably no harm would have been done. He fell, though.
And here is where my concern really starts: I am disgusted how way more than half the fucking squad just walks past the guy lying on the floor, bleeding from the ear and trembling with some sort of seizure. The squad resigned, following a kneejerk move from the authorities firing the 2 cops, in a snowflake kneejerk reaction. Honestly I wouldn't shed a tear over the shitheads.

This does not become apparent from the video. The man points at something and does not move when is told to do so. He holds something black under his left arm but does not offer it to the officer (this would not hve been the time and place to return a "riot helmet" anyway).
According to the article you linked:
"Mr. Gugino, who was shoved after he approached officers, staggered backward and landed hard on the sidewalk. Blood was seen immediately pooling behind his head."
So it appears that this is what we know.
Nothing of his intentions were mentioned. In the video we cannot hear what is being said.
To me it looks like the officer shoved him harder than necessary, that is it, again I give the benefit of the doubt that he did not want this to happen. The really offensive part starts afterwards.

The old guy got fucked up, that is clear. The city of Buffalo is facing a lawsuit from the old guy for sure and if he dies, his family will try to bankrupt the city. How do you think it will turn out? I have no idea, I just have a feeling that as in most cases, the police will get the benefit of the doubt and nothing will come of it.
Boy, cameras are really making things complicated. All of the recent actions, including beatings and murders, wouldn't have made front page in local newspapers in their areas if there was no video.

Police originally said that “one person was injured when he tripped and fell”. It’s not clear whether they were referring to the incident that was caught on camera.
