The Pentagon is full of shit. They (and their media stenographers) try to spin it such that those powerful IEDs were used only by Shia militia but the Sunni insurgency used them too & they were doing most of the fighting against US troops. Even if the Shia militia were aided by Iran, that doesn't give the US the right to assassinate people, years after the fact... or should Russia have the right to assassinate top US officials who armed Afghanis with Stinger missiles?
