Cool tech, but my guess it's good for prototyping and one-off parts. Maybe you can do stuff that you can't do with stamping? With mass production, stamping should still be way more cheaper and obviously faster.

i can see a massive industry in custom vehicle parts. hot rods, one offs, replacing panels that are rare, custom carbon fiber molds, hell fiberglass molds, there you go boating industry too. fucking, custom motorcycle parts so there's another season of orange county choppers in the can.
and there's your one offs out of the picture if you're using it to make molds. actually that's a decent business idea, custom steel molds.

Yes, the only downside is the pattern the ball bearing leaves behind in the metal for some applications. Classic car enthusiasts (outside the US) will not be happy with the extra layer of filler required.
