Archeology in NZ is whacky. The govt sealed archeological studies of celtic walls, to be opened in 60 years. There's evidence that Chinese were here centuries ago, likely it was Zheng He in early 16th century. I've heard of Conquestador artifacts being found way down South. The Chinese & Celtic stuff is up North. The video in this post is right in the middle of the North Island.
There are Maori with red hair & fair skin. Their legends talk of cohabitating with a white tribe who had red hair pre-discovery but nobody acknowledges it in the official history. There's a theory that NZ was a dumping ground for Celtic or Nordic outcasts a long long time ago but I dunno.
I have a loose theory on why things are suppressed: it could undermine the reparations negotiations where we give shit to Maory tribes, or just the embarassment of admitting the whole "discovery" thing is a bit farcical.

nah lots of rocks have flat tops. we're just used to the more rounded rocks that are that way because of weathering because that's what we see all the time, the ones that are buried are very commonly flat. the cracking also is very natural, that superfine crack can't be done by anything other than natural processes even.
