Michele Bachmann's prayer

Prayer is a funny thing.

If there was a god (and that's a BIG IF) that is omnipotent and omniscient, then he already knows what's going to happen and is already going to do what he wants. What does praying actually do? especially the whole praying that "thy will be done." what a perfect out they leave themselves.  Begging him to do whatever he wants, that way their prayers are always answered?

is it not arrogant to assume he's just waiting around for us to try and change his mind?
Is one prayer enough? or do you have to keep repeating the same thing over and over for it to work? 

Is it hard for him to hear you so you have to keep doing it?

or is each prayer just a little drop in the bucket that you're trying to fill up so that he'll do what you want?

It's like they think praying is the same as mashing the X button on a game controller to fill up the power bar.

Is it like a huge magic game of Tug O' War when you have people on both sides praying to the same god to do what THEY want?

I've never understood it, even as a kid when I was forced to go to church.
