Prominent Feminist ACCUSED Allegedly Paid Victim For Silence

And it only took 9 months for this circus to reach maximum stupidity. Hopefully we can peak now and settle into something that actually reduces this shit from happening. I had a boss when I was 15-18 who was a middle-aged woman who constantly sexually harrassed me. Besides the fact that I was 15 she was hideous so there was no "Nice!" to fall back on. Let's make sexual harrassment of teenage boys by ugly women a thing of the past.

So let's see this was all over the news but the upload is of course from a "I present you with your opinion so you don't have to think for yourself" channel.

If you're making that much money as a child movie star, and suddenly stop making money when you become an adult, there may be other reasons other than an alleged rape at 17 that influenced your declining income. You don't need a lot of acting skills as a kid if adults consider you adorable. Your childhood CV isn't going to do much good if you turn into Macaulay Culkin.

It's Hollywood. This kid made this much dough, and didn't know about the do's and don't's regarding sex, at seventeen? I doubt it.

So who has a motive?

His parents, who controlled his income for many years. He is not making them the money he used to anymore.

That becomes problematic when the expensive taste has taken hold and your golden goose stops retrieving gold.

You want to know how many failed child actors that are out there? Who didn't grow into attractive superstars, by courtesy of Disney? How many miserable early parents who spend their time on fansites, watching their own shows, and taking bankloans to pay their agent hoping to get a nostalgia gig? How many of those drug addicted bums you've seen taking shits in broad daylight were part of your favorite shows growing up? It's Hollywood. Everyone is introduced to drugs. Not everybody makes it through that ordeal.

Since they settled for 380.000$ the original amount they were asking for as compensation was probably a lot higher(considering the court documents). That hints at a weak case, and probably not a very convincing one to a judge. The case mentions how much money he used to be payed as a child actor, over 5 years, but states the cause of his decline in income was the trauma he suffered from having sex with this milf, and mentions nothing about his age or acting skills having any influence.

Why ask for a settlement to keep the case secret if you're not guilty? Because clearly just a rumor of sexual misconduct can cost you your job. If you are a public person, celebrity, you don't want to be publically known for "maybe" being a paedophile. If you're a movie actor or actress, you're basically doing freelance work. Your reputation is everything.

If you seek or agree to a settlement, you stop all investigations into the matter, and the priority becomes profit, rather than bringing justice for the victim and punishment for the criminal.

Let's not forget, it was an anonymous leak of a legally sealed document: A crime. Only a certain number of people had those documents available to them. If you leak it anonymously, you're clearly afraid of legal consequences, but there's enough of a reward to risk the possibility of being caught.

It obviously wasn't the woman ie the alleged sex offender in question. Nobody wants to be Kevin Spacey anymore, post-you know what. Soooo...

The kid? Maybe. If it was rape and not enough evidence to seal the case, he'd probably want her to suffer. Also, if it wasn't, he probably wants money too.

Parents? Probably. They controlled his income for many years. Golden Goose + Hollywood etc. Or they hate her for what she did to their son.

Their lawyer? Could be. Has access to legal documents. Could have spilled the beans during office chatter, had documents stolen, kept at unsecure location.

A political party or opponent trying to reveal the hipocracy of a single outdated actress to prove a point? Not likely. Already too easy.

Gut feeling: "Someone" ran out of the money they disappointedly accepted in the settlement, and many years later leaked these court documents to hurt the person in question, taking advantage of the current "anything goes, including your job"-phenomena that came from the MeToo movement. And it could even be to kickstart that kid's career by accepting money for interviews, on a topic which is currently the second clickbait after Trump.
