Assuming that this technology is real, who thinks this will be used to make populations happier, healthier, wealthier, more numerous and free?

it's a stepping stone towards robots bringing us breakfast in bed so it ticks all those boxes with the exception of more numerous populations, which robotic tech negates the need for & which is arguably not something we shouldn't be wanting. 8 billion seems like more than enough considering how quickly we're wiping out the other species on this planet.

Not at all. The Earth is abundant enough to sustain 100 times that. The more people you have the more problem solvers you will raise that will offset millions of less constructive people.

the video is an example of problem solving & only required a small team of researchers, not billions of poorly educated consumers

Stopmotion video made by a kid = chinese technology :)

Even if this was real, how is this a robot, it can't move on its own, all it is- is metal going from solid to liquid claimed to be done by current, this setup could be in mommy's oven for all we know.
