The bizarre part of the entire Madoff scheme to me is that I personally know 5 people who were wiped out by it. They were so happy that they were invested with Madoff and were kind of in an elite group of people. Many were shut out-to their everlasting good luck-but it was that elite club mentality that had everyone running to him.
My brother was quick to point out they were all Jewish and he himself had been told he would never have the opportunity to invest with Madoff because he wasn't. I'm glad he was shut out because some of my money would have gone down the drain too. The failure of government regulation in the Madoff Affair makes the recent cut-off of what little there is seem somewhat well, fucking retarded.
