yeah that reno gearbox is a piece of shit and i've herd it from dudes who know their shit. from what i've herd if you want to throw an LS1 in there you need a decent gearbox like porshe or lotus after that it gets obscure. however making that shit fit in there after she's bolted onto an LS1 is another matter. its not the width so much as the length and with the adaptor plate on a DMC12 thats a tough ask for most engineers.

after that if you want to add any more power to the engine like turbo or supercharging shit gets weird and custom fast. i've been told there are transmission solutions for most instances but money goes fast and thats just putting power down the line. then theres the suspension issues, brakes, the chassis comes into play at this point and this one is exclusive. the car becomes super rear heavy and understeers like a bitch to the point of you're going in a straight line no mater what.

Just a technicality but the car will OVERsteer, common problem of older 911 turbos.

I watched another video on this (very annoying presentation so I did not share) where they showed off this car and it seems they really only "threw" the engine in, cleaned the top a little so at first glance it looks nice but didn't clean up the rest, parts like alternator etc. were all nasty and corroded. Clearly not a job of a real enthusiast.

erm... if you have a tonne of weight in the rear of a vehicle and little in the front or no downforce in the front they will tend to understeer. this is because (and this is super simplified) the front wheels have no grip and cannot turn the vehicle.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Understeer_and_oversteer

Understeer and oversteer are vehicle dynamics terms used to describe the sensitivity of a vehicle to steering. Oversteer is what occurs when a car turns (steers) by more than the amount commanded by the driver. Conversely, understeer is what occurs when a car steers less than the amount commanded by the driver.

Sorry, as soon as you stomp your foot on the gas in a corner the 450hp (or better the torque produced by it) on the rear wheels will make the thing oversteer. Also it is not like there is no weight at all on the front wheels.
My 911 has no understeer at all, despite the front wheels being 225 and the rear 285. The problem comes in when you start to lose rear traction as the margin of error is very small with a rear engined as opposed to a front engined car you "lose" the rear very quickly, ask any 911 turbo driver, especially one of the first ones. This is why most run of the mill modern cars are frontwheeldrive, they all UNDERsteer, despite hardly any weight on the rear axle, even if they are driven so hard that rear inner wheel lifts off the ground. Understeer is way easier to control than oversteer.
