Yeah, looks like someone dreamed that thing up without consulting engineering. This looks like an aerodynamic nightmare and of course there is a reason why all airplanes are pretty much (almost) round in shepe.

It could probably work if they had multiple covers instead of leaving it open. The potential for weather to destroy the cargo is too high with it being open.

isn't the main fuselage of a large jet also a lifting body? if so, making the body mostly open wouldn't be good
