I would not call it "destroyed", but rather giving another educated albeit probably pretty biased opinion. Pretty much like in a court case prosecution vs. defense.

That is the "problem" with the law, it is more open to interpretation than other fields.

Just look at the 2nd amendment discussions, the wording is so vague that proper arguments can be made for or against gun regulations.

Yes I agree, I spent almost 2.5 years reading everything I could on law everyday. I was reading SCOTUS cases like it was the newspaper. I had an excellent top attorney on my case but was swamped with case work as he was a public defender in San Fran, I had to act as his paralegal and research all the laws for my case(I was happy to do it). In the end I can say this with %100 confidance: Laws are just a matter of opinion! Everything is open to interpretation and can be argued even when the "lawmakers" try to make it as plain and simple to understand as possible. Someone gets charged with a crime and violates the law they go before a judge where the judge hears and decided which opinoin/argument is best, loser gets to appeal to even more judges who decide who's argument is better usually going back to a peice of paper with a bunch of opinions written a couple hundred years ago on it. Going back to the statute, it is just a bunch of "lawmakers" who write down and add or delete or change the laws everyday based on their opinion. This is why someone who can hire top attorneys can win! It boils down to who has the best argument/opinion.
