First responders at factory in Syria after suspected Israel strikes

Israeli missiles have hit a military outpost near the Syrian capital Damascus killing nine people an hour after US President Donald Trump exited a 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

2 civilians were reportedly killed - a Syrian man and his wife passing by in their car.

7 military personell were reportedly killed.

The attack occurred in the countryside in Kisweh, just south of Damascus, an area known to have numerous Syrian army military bases.

Syrian spokeman under anonymity said there were jets in the sky but it was likely the position was targeted by surface-to-surface missiles from the Golan Heights.

There was no immediate comment from Israel, which almost never confirms or denies air strikes in Syria. Such strikes have become more frequent recently

ISIS is camped right on the border of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights (it's been there for 3-4 years).

Despite carrying out over 100 air strikes in Syria Israel has not attacked ISIS

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, said the target was an arms depot.

The dead included members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and other Shia militiamen, it added.

Israel has not commented on the reports, but it has said it will stop what it considers Iran's military "entrenchment" in Syria.

i think israel isn't really interested in any wars, they've got too much to lose even if they don't lose the entire conflict. instead they'll just try to set others against people they don't like. they quite contentedly play the long game, as they have been doing with the palestinian territories for ages now.

Probably to provoke a reaction that can pull US-led forces into a confrontation with the Iranian-led forces. The timing of this incident is telling.
