These are the stock cameras on the front, back and sides. They record all the time so I expect it's a balance of minimum quality needed to minimize storage space. On some models, they are also used for self driving but those may be an upgrade.

Exactly, I don't understand why the low quality if self driving relies on it.

It likely does not have self driving. Not every Tesla has it. Especially the older cars, which this model X likely is.
