There has been a massive amount of skimmers on gas pumps off highways in my area. People will sit in cars a few feet away and target obviously rich people. I use a pathetically low limit card for all of my purchases that could possibly be at risk and check devices quickly-scammers are getting too good to catch easily though. A lot of people I know have been the victims of skimmers, credit card number and identity theft, etc. I have been careful but it's luck because it isn't if, it's when. The clowns in this video are low-level scammers. That store looks shitty but I guess if you do enough of them...

As far as I know, it's not enough to skim the card but you also have to get the PIN and you can't get that by skimming. I've seen ones where they install a camera too to get the pin code.

transactions under 20€ don't require pin here but that is with contactless cards only.
