I'm curious about the whole "download yourself onto a hard drive" (once tech gets there) as a form of immortality. Even if you have a blue print of everything in ur brain, and if u upload it to a android or w/e, is that really *you*?

If you use a teleportation device that works by destroying you into atoms and then re-creating the same exact copy at another location, is the new copy still you?

I didn't watch the video but i know the answer, you are a soul in a vessel you call your body, you die and your soul comes out, your memory is not stored in your brain but rather your soul stores it in your own dimension, because it is your point of view.
Every time you get reborn you forget your past, actually that happens as a fetus mostly.

I you really grasp the problem, it is like magic. Maybe consciousness is the god were looking for.

I would not call it magic that is just how it goes, it would be like calling Aliens magic, the population is divided over other planets and we start a new intelligent species on earth, earth is the cradle of life, we are the fist ones to dirty it up like this.

A soul would be "magic" for us. A floating non material consciousness.
Doesn't mean it can't be explained, but it's so far what we can explain now, that it might as well be magic.

It is special, but not all souls fly all the time sometimes when you are hungry you see someone passing in the street walking regularly while he is already dead, you can talk to them, you look to the side for a second and they are gone then you feel sick. Happened to me when i was a kid i have met the same girl 4 times at the fair and so did other kids, we call her the girl with pink pants, i even went to her mothers house with her to get books about the afterlife and witchcraft, the mother thought i killed her daughter, i said she is standing right next to me, and she said tell her this, a secret little pot with something blue in it. (whatever that means) then the mother believed me, i told her the girl lived with her boyfriend, i even knew where they lived, in the basement of the school, i got really sick for a few minutes because the girl left.
Now this is the story when i was young this was 1990 i think the girl and her boyfriend stepped out of their body's they where found at the side of a field dead with no cause of death, they did that because their parents told em they could not be together, they used the books info to be together forever.
