No matter where you are at in the gun debate:

ONLY if the system (country) is oversaturated and underregulated someone would get the idea of inventing measures like this one.

No matter how well you train the system there is no way for the system to differentiate between real guns and realistic toy guns.

I don't understand his surprise that gun stores take part in the research, their goal is pretty much unregulated trade after all and "saftey measures" like this would aid their argumentation.

Yeah I don’t think there will ever be an easy answer. I couldn’t see the advantage of this system until the end where they showed how it can help give up to date info on where the shooter might be in the building. Maybe a step in the rht direction.

3:20 - He mentioned the system not alerting to weapons in a holster, but then says "peace officer or security guard's holsters".  Is there something special about holsters being worn by people as part of their job and people just carrying as part of their daily routine?  I don't see why that matters.

4:30 - Good on Dustin for not wanting to live in a world where you're scanned with shit that sees through clothing.

I guess he means that as an example, also police officers or security guards tend to open carry their guns in holsters whilst the general public don't.

Like he said concealed carry scanners may be appropriate in certain locations or venues, although these would be probably "machine read" and also not really "see through" clothing but detect certain materials and shapes thereof. This will become more important the more non-metal guns are in circulation.
