Tell me I am bad at math

X = 1 + X/2

subtract 1 from both sides

X - 1 = X/2

multiply both sides by 2 to isolate x and distribute the 2

2x -2 = x

add 2 to both sides

2x = x + 2

subtract x from both sides

x = 2

I did this on paper differently and was getting different shit like 1 and -11/3

Careful you don't dig deeper and unravel the causal nexus, tearing apart the very fabric of the universe itself. ;'-)

Te answer has always been 43.

i would say 1.5 and i am right damned.

Let's say a book is sold online for 1 dollar,- shipping is half the price of the item,-

how much does the book cost you? 1.5

Seconded. I guess this makes us part of the upper 15% (inflection mine).  Here in French Canada prix(price) and coût(cost) are used interchangeably on price stickers. The correct answer to a math problem shouldn't have linguistic features.
