I heard a new album was in the making but then the info vanished.

It's been very hard for him to play the past few years.
He developed a bad pinched nerve from falling asleep in his chair alot over the decades.
He has stated he generally saves it all for the shows.
Whether or not that has anything to do with it, who knows since it's music, could be anything.
But that's a pretty good reason.
