She might not have deserved all the punches, but she sure as fuck needed a few. She was kicking the officer and being a rude, dumb bitch. Being drunk isn't a good excuse. She probably knew she would be able to sue them if she kept being a cunt and took a few punches. I'm sure she's used to it.

Cuffed, and surrounded by large male police officers, one of which is being deliberately aggressive in his handling of the extremely intoxicated woman, provoking additional irrational responses from her. Once a suspect is in custody and contained at the station, pain-based compliance - this kind of violence - is difficult to justify. Seems like he just hit her because he was angry. She keeps saying they arrested the wrong person - it is possible that she was "played" by someone at her new job, perhaps by a veteran server who didn't like her shit-eating grin?

In my opinion, officers should always act in self defense. They are trained for this. Anything a criminal says is irrelevant, they are just words, they have no effect. If the criminal is violent you have to take measures to defend yourself. This girl doesn't have the strength to hurt a fly, doesn't know what she's doing and is easily subdued. Restrain her, grab her with force, pin her on the ground or against the wall. Constantly punching her is too much even if she deserves it.

Yea I agree. Rather than punching the crap out of her, maybe give her a few jolts of the taser instead if you feel you can't get her under control. What I kind of hate is how I see videos like this every now and then and the background officers stand there doing nothing. Probably because they're afraid to get involved with all the possible backlash that might come with it? I dunno.
