What the fuck did I just watch!???Searching their shit without a warrant then saying its a civil matter. WOW!

OK, after reading the comments, it appears they thought he had weed so they said its a civil matter not knowing he had X. With that said, IF they entered his apartment without permission and performed an illegal search it is "fruit of the poisonous tree" and would get tossed out in court. I used to manage rentals and if I entered an apartment illegally and found a weed operation the cops cant prosecute and I could be charged with illegal entry, or burglary. If I gave notice I was entering to perform maintenance and gave ample notice and I found it then its all good. Maybe they smelled weed and came in but they are not cops, right? If they are not cops then they cant perform a search. Still fucked up though.

depends on what they signed. college residence lease agreements aren't exactly like personal residential lease agreements. college lease agreements are usually done up to the point that anybody making any kind of complaint of whats going on inside is reason enough for them to come in.

Yeah, one thing I learned, as I use to create my own lease agreements, is that you can put whatever you want in a contract, but enforcing it is a whole other thing. I watched a few other of their videos and one time the security said the lease states their living room is their "common area" of which they have a lease agreement stating they can come into their "common area". BUT he goes on to say that even though they can come in they chose not to unless their is a problem. Which Im calling bullshit and they probably had their lawyers say they cant do that. It is still consider their domicile, their home. From what Ive seen they prey on the ignorance of the kids knowledge of the law and of their rights. Most of the time they knock and the kids open the door and they just walk in. If the kids just kept the door locked then they wouldnt be able to go in, or if the kids blocked them and insisted they do not enter then they would not be able to enter, even if they smelled weed, they have to call law enforcment. Imagine if I was a landlord and I smelled weed in my tenants apartment and I unlock the door and entered their apartment, thats breaking and entering, burglary. Exigent circumstances only applies to law enforcement, not landlords or the company they hire, unless there is a fire or water leak, you cannnot enter someones home, even if it is on the lease.

These fucking clowns are wannabe cops or cops who were fired from the looks of things.

Its sad seeing people, especially kids, being taken advantage of by cops or in this case wannabe cops that know just enough to circumvent the laws and fuck with people. But really how else do people learn about this stuff unless you learned the hard way or go to college to be a lawyer. You can try to learn from the internet but then you get videos like the soverign citizens or the maskless people. There's a reason law school takes 8 yrs.

I learned the hard way and I spent a lot of time researching and studying law. I got friends calling me all the time asking about legal stuff. I will be teaching my daughter everything about this stuff as well. She is 6 yrs old and knows NOT to open the door to cops. IM not doing anythign illegal, I dont even smoke weed anymore, but I'll be damned if cops come for whatever reason and they come in my house becuse my 6 yr old opened the door and let them in, cops are such fucks nowadays they'd use that as an excuse to come in, no doubt. Cops got called to a kids house becuase the kid had a toy gun on a fucking online school zoom class. The police state is real and its here!
