Closing the tab is no use - you need to keep yourself logged out to prevent the tracking. They do it via their plugins which are all over the web, not just on their site. They can read what you're doing wherever you go because half the internet has their plugins on their website. Even a simple "shre onn facebook" link on a random website generates tonnes of data back n forth between your browser & theh facebook servers without you even clicking on it.
