At the end of the day it doesn't matter whether we start doing things 'right' because of climate change or to enable more people to have the basics of life. Both problems will be resolved if we do what we have to.
Sustainable energy sources are after all very dispersed so the potential for many local jobs and local energy and thus local prosperity is there if we seize it.
