The Rapture is a cooky theory that Evangelical Christians believe. It takes roughly 2 minutes to debunk this nonsense, theologically.
These 'Christians', who live in a liberal democracy with access to modern schooling, believe that in order for Jebus to come back, there has to be a war in Israel that brings armageddon. During this 'end times' 2/3 of the Jews die along with about 1/2 the Christians.
Those who haven't been 'saved in the blood of Christ' will burn for eternity. Some people just wanna see the world burn. These Evangelical 'Christians' wanna see us burn for eternity. But those who are 'saved' get to hang out with Jebus so it's all good.
This is the biggest hook for these 'Christians' to support the ethnic cleansing of Palestine - it's their version of 72 virgins. They send billions every year to the racial colonisation of stolen land. So they can hang with big J and we can burn forever.
There are about 70 million Evangelical Christians in America, around 1/2 of these people believe in the 'Rapture'.

There are 70 million evangelicals in USA. Half of them believe this rapture theory, including the top diplomat & the VP.
The theory is not credible but the positions of power these people hold are quite real, as is the power inherited such a large voting block.
Where it becomes a danger to humanity IMO is the coupling of this cooky shit with Zionism and that's very much happened with the current US regime. If you look into the history of Christians United for Israel - it was founded by the Israel Lobby under Pastor Hagee. This political block of evangelicals has been groomed by Hagee since 2006, convincing these people to cuck for Israel.
