Canada Lockdown - Weeks To Go

danmanjones's picture

It will be 'weeks' before Canada can ease coronavirus shutdown measures: Trudeau

Canada activated its Emergency Operations Centre On January 15, recorded its first case on January 27 & implemented lockdowns in mid-March. [src]

As the provincial lockdowns were being activated Canada had 100 - 1,000 cases nationwide.

Daily new cases have remained steady in Canada for the past 2 weeks, averaging around 1,300 per day. [src]

Soon Canada will have more daily cases than China since the first 30 were recorded, despite the comparible size & preparation time...

Well, we all know China is lying about its numbers, so you cant include them. Deny all you want Danman! It doesnt change that fact! It just makes you look foolish and stupid!

What "we all know" is a fallacy, especially on this website. I really don't give a fuck what you call me. If you have some evidence the Chinese government is lying about thier numbers, bring it.

The floor's yours - do you have the balls to back up your shit?

Or are you just gonna hurl childish insults & run away like a pussy?

How can I "prove" it with evidence if the Chinese government is deliberately hiding it :/ Thats like a religious nut saying "prove god doesnt exist then I'll believe you"! Its a culmination of little things and events and a history of it. If I had a visitor come to my house with a known history of stealing and something comes up missing and when I ask him about it he avoids me and gives me some wild tale of how he wasnt even at my house, Im going to assume he stole my shit. WITHOUT EVIDENCE! Its called using your noggin and not being a fool!

So you have no evidence but you have some reasoning:

"Its called using your noggin and not being a fool!"

Care to elaborate?

Absence of evidence is NOT evidence of absence.

True but it's a strawman here. I've not said or implied that absence of evidence disproved the claim that the PRC is lying about the figures.

Nobody wants to discuss the claim though, they just want to be able to repeat it as if it's gospel. What do you think they're afraid of?

From my standpoint, to go further with my thoughts on the matter would be too speculative.

I recommend everyone stays sharp about how they're government handles their liberties during this time.

This circumstance with cervesa could be exactly what we are being told. Or there could be something large and dark behind it.

The reason I say that is because everyone is very vulnerable right now. And people are looking to be lead. The truth is no one has the answers so people should turn inward and really take stock of their values. While keeping the closest and sharpest eyes and ears on the "Authorities" right now more than ever.

Here is what we DO know. The world has stopped...

yup, I agree with all that.

I'm lucky here we have a pretty good Privacy Commission that looks after our interests. There are definintely things I don't like but overall there's not too much to worry about.

If there are new things like geolocating apps or whatever I think that could be a good thing (it would enable us to get back to 'normal' life quicker & easier) but there would need to be something in place to guard against it becoming permanent or mandatory. This is one of those times when trust between government in people is a real asset. Unfortunately for a lot of us that's lacking bigtime.

I heard something yesterday. Apparently Canada has declared gold mines essential. I wonder how many countries will do this.

Why is this important?

This could be a clue to a complete economic reset.

Gold and silver are what carry real value.

If that's the case. Canada is in trouble as they sold most of their gold reserves.

It's true gold & silver have stood the test of time but value is placed in whatever we decide to place it in. Funny that Canada has declared gold mines essential, maybe it's an economic thing, like to keep their credit rating good or whatever. They don't have a lot of foreign reserves (about 86 billion). This stuff is all a bit above my pay grade tbh. Macro-economics is hard to understand. For instance the US federal reserve just printing about 10 trillion dollars.... weird times.

The States has something more valueable than gold.

They have force.

They can print as much as they want and if anyone wants to stop them, they have the beat stick.

Plus if we have an economic reset. Debts will be wiped out, as it would be such an unbelievable and perhaps impossible mess to sort out the way it is.

Another something I'll throw out there. Has anyone ever REALLY thought about what "Sustainable development" actually could mean?

in my experience it's something the politicians say to look good & what corporates write about to get grant money. In real terms I don't think we can all be eating so much meat later this century without sacraficing half of the planet's biology.

Sustainable development COULD also be a nice way to state control at all costs.

It could mean genocides of people on a scale we have never seen.

I'm not talking about any particular government. I'm talking about a potential collaboration of the U.N.

Trusted and neccessary institutions are failing on a face palm level.

Trump wants to open the states up despite a pandemic. Think about that? Of course he knows it will kill millions. WHY would he be willing to make that sacrifice? It's too easy to say just money.

I do think something big is happening beyond this. But I can't claim to know what it's about. Simply ask the questions of the ideas that seem suspicious to me.

And yes, that also means going through a backlog of old conspiracy theories and at least requestioning possibilities.

i'm not saying its because of this, but think about it.

the economy indirectly kills people. when its down, unemployment goes up. when that heppens. suicides go up. people drink more, leading to more alcohol related deaths, same goes for the harder drugs. crime also rises with unemployment. but when the economy tanks. people do dumb things. you're going to get some people that unintentional kill themselves cause they started rationing food, not eating healthy, leading them to get sick and die. you also have people that will loose the will to live. like alot of seniors or retirees who' pensions/mutual funds or rrsp's will be worth a quarter of what they used to be.

i wouldnt be surprised if they project that more people will die from the ramifications the virus has had on the economy over the death from the virus, i expect the the country to re-open before a vaccine is found, i would say gloves and masks are the new norm for business' but the government would have to supply them cause its still something people are snatching up

There was some buzz a few years back about FEMA camps in the U.S. being constructed under the Obama administration, and well as talks about large shipments of economical supplies to dispose of dead in mass graves.

Almost like an event like this was expected.

What has also went down in recent times of significance?

A cease fire in Korea, Brexit, Peace talks in some parts of the middle east. Almost like alot of the problems under the public lense were making progress.

Then the world is smoked with the most crippling alternative to the worst case scenarios of the aforementioned events.

Connected? Maybe not. But all of this happened pretty quickly.

I was highly suspicious for the first month because of how the ports of entry here were being handled & some other things. They basically did nothing & just let people come in. Everyone except people who'd recently been to China & Iran. There was no testing, screening or quarantining at the airports. Just a customs form & a couple of questions. Then the Brits announced their genius "herd immunity" plan & I figured that might be what they're doing here. I've never been ashamed of this country before that but that was a real mindfuck. For 1-2 days it was really fucking depressing. But then they got their shit together & now about 2 months later they're admitting they fucked up the airports & will treat them as a quarantine zone like China does & so we're all good in the end.

The 'big picture' stuff seems to be just the usual capitalist wankers cashing in on the crisis. I'd not wanna be an American atm. Things aren't looking good. The trend there is always to strengthen monopolies & shaft the people it seems. I don't think it's any big conpsiracy, just a pattern of behaviour & opportunism.

your so bad at this.

found something cool with one of the links you gave me. made it into a guessing game, can you guess which one is china based on the tests being reported. then try to guess which one is canada, you'll probably figure out why canada has had such a high rate the past few weeks when you correctly guess which one is which.

https://i.imgur.com/1hncRjP.jpg

cool wiki link. you now it shows that canada's 30+ daily count goes back 35 days. if you do the average of the people infected during that time over the 35 days. its an average of 807 people per day. if you do the same for the recovered. its 256 per day recover. do the same for deaths and its 28 per day. also consider that half of the dead are from seniors/long term homes(75+). i think those are some pretty respectable numbers.
