Is he really telling us that he normally carries 500 rounds in the trunk of his car for his job as a security guard?
Here is some contextual information for people to fully grasp the insanity of all this:
- A typical modern full-size 9mm handgun has a magazine capacity of about 15-18 rounds. This means he was transporting over 28 magazines worth of ammo.
- A typical full battle load for a modern rifleman in a war zone is 10 magazines, or 300 rounds.
The only time it would make sense to carry this much ammo is on your way back from the store after buying a large crate or on your way to a particularly long training session at the shooting range.
I'm not saying the guy is lying and was looking for trouble. I'm just saying that if this guy truly carries 500 rounds of pistol ammo for his job as a security guard, he is firmly in mall ninja territory.
