Lately, I am listening to combichrist a lot again not sure that is even metal. I have always been more into industrial rock myself, stabbing westward, NIN, etc.

Never really got into most industrial, myself, but I freakin' love the martial subgenre. Blasting songs from Legionarii and Arditi as I drive down the street produces the most wonderfully twisted expressions on the faces of pedestrians...
I'll just give you a handful of some of my favorite bands/albums from two of my favorite genres (well, technically, four), as I really should be rehabilitating my lawn right now. If you dig, you oughta follow my Bandcamp page for more. I tend to buy a few albums there each paycheck, and it's easy to fall down a musical rabbit hole by checking out followers and Bandcamp's suggestions on the bottom of each band's page. Their "best of" lists tend to be fairly solid as well.
Black Metal
Odal - Zornes Heimat (Hands down, one of the best black metal albums ever recorded.)
Nazxul - Iconoclast (One of the best symphonic black metal bands ever. Fun fact - their old drummer, Steve Hughes, became a standup comedian.)
Ice Dragon - The Sorrowful Sun (Sure, they rip off Sabbath more than most doom outfits, but you can't argue with results.)

I think I prefer the doom/stoner/sludge genres, although Ustalost is wicked AF. Hexgrafv, Windhand, and Ice Dragon (that vocalist can rail) are my favs in the list so far...
