Bill always has a bee in his bonnet. That's what makes him so funny at times. His earnest nature is laudable all the time though. He's one of the most elite and succesful stand-ups to date and still exposes his foibles and flaws openly. If he's being sensitive, he'll usually make fun of him self quickly. Rare specimen for his level of success.

I think h's funny but lost a lot of respect for him when he decided to get rid of his dog when they were having a baby. I don't know the background but it did not sound like he was trying to find a solution. With his kind of success he has the money to get all the help that is needed. Don't get me wrong, of course if the kid is in danger one has to have the priorities straight but his excuse was lame and lazy.
