There is strong correalation to these entities and the Ul'vath Arch mentioned.

However, the creator tweeted that these were his own design.

There "May" be a continuation of this story, however he mentioned that he has at least 3 different stories he wants to share.

Personally I'm fine if it ends here, or if he wants to tell more.

I also feel that Games Workshop can really learn from this guy about pacing and scale if they want to make their shows. Even with a small unit, this still showcases 40K with an excellent sense of scale and story telling.

Animation is cutting edge. He captured the "Lumbering" movement of space marines really well, while not making them clunky. You can really believe that they can move fast in a 1 ton suit of armor. Same thing with his demonstration of force. When they fought the Psykers, you could actually feel the force of the bolter shells hitting their barrier and the impact wind behind the barrier was a nice touch.

I know little of this universe but there was one thing I think this guy got wrong. When one creepy sphere says to the other creepy sphere "You must take the alpha" I think the sphere was referring to the main man with one arm at the end - that they hadn't succeeded but could achieve a stalemate and possible future victory by "taking" this particular irksome Astartes warrior and his men out of play.

The reasons the orbs didn't want to use their powers was because it would expose them to warp daemons.

For example think of the immaterium like a pitch black room. If you're a psyker every time you use your power it's like a light flickering in pitch black. Daemons associate that flicker of light with food.

Notice how once the orb grabbed the team something collided with it and extinguished it. Very likely a warp daemon ate it's soul.

The Alpha was the Inquisitor plugged in searching through it's records, or keeping it subdued. Or could have been the Veteran Seargant with the boba fett shoulder cape.

Hence why the instant the Inquisitors psychic defences were overrun the Marines put him down with extreme prejuduce immediately. If the Inquisitor was possessed by an Enslaver they could turn his body into a daemon gate if not dealt with instantly.

I think the "main" character was just a tech marine.

I think the orbs were either trying to protect themselves, or they were using the cultists to build them bodies to be anchored to the material universe. When the cultists were dispatched the orbs might have seen a new opportunity for servants in the Astartes.
