Are federal agents immune from lawsuits and prosecutions?

A federal agent tried to shoot an innocent man. Will the Supreme Court allow accountability?

This is beyond fucked up. This agent tried to kill a man whose wife injured the agents son in a vehicle accident and only failed to do so because his gun jammed. The prosecutor dropped the charges and now the court said the agent has qualified immunity. Federal agent can attempt to murder someone and get away with it.

And even when they are prosecuted the punishment is reassignment or some other non-punishment.
