"think it would have missed him if it wasnt for the jeep" ahhh but the trajectory of the excavator on the back seems to line up pretty good with the guys face. I'd put money on the jeep saving the day.

that jeep didnt stop the excavator, the tree the excavator hit stopped it. thats what all the debris falling a few seconds after is from. jeep got in the way, its where he would have been
can't find a news article thats in english and using a translater can garble it up depending where you cut a past. this is the best i can get
A young man miraculously escaped from the accident where the brake of a bulldozer was lost at Karingallathani, Palakkad. On the touchdown descent As the bulldozer crashed into a tree, the oncoming vehicle crashed into the bulldozer.The young man miraculously escaped when an oncoming vehicle hit him with a bulldozer, which was parked near the bike and talking on the phone. The brakes of the bulldozer were lost on the descent. The driver was trying to crash into a tree on the opposite side to avoid further accidents. The biker was talking on the phone on the side of the same road but the vehicle sped off. But the Bolero coming from the opposite direction hit the bulldozer and pushed the bike rider away. The passengers of all the three vehicles escaped with minor injuries despite the major accident. But the vehicles have significant damage. The extent of the accident became clear to everyone when the CCTV footage of the incident came out this morning.

Yea took the sudden stop into account. Something massive dissipated the majority of the energy, but the remaining angular momentum? A fraction of the initial hit, but enough for a swipe or a tilt? Jeep might not have been necessary for this outcome, but still.
This is the most looped a clip and my eyes hurt.

The JCB was going past the guy on the bike only thing the Jeep may have prevented is the JCB toppling over and crushing the biker due to the 2nd impact.
