Ahmaud Robbery trial

Georgia has a statute that allows for citizens to effectuate an arrest. The Jogger was caught many times at a house under construction and the last time he got caught he ran away(Jogged away at a very high speed, LOL). Two neighbors gave chase to arrest him, one of the two men is a former cop btw. He then fights the man trying to arrest him and tries to take the shotgun. Gets shot in the process. What am I missing?
