Actually have come accross a situation similar. 2 homeless guys started a fistfight in front of a busy bus stop. I called the cops and about 10 other people took videos.
I got to stay behind for 45 minutes to give a statement to police, and eventually got cummoned to court as a witness when they charged the agressor in the fight. Ended up getting thrown out though because the victim was a no show at court

That sucks. Poor guys already down on thier luck, and some shitbag gets the cops involved... resulting in even more trouble for them....

I actually felt pretty bad for the guy. He basically got jumped for no reason other than being homeless (yes, by another -very-very-drunk - homeless guy).
