Creating an excuse to cancel the first summit is the way Trump negociates. Just make it sound like he's not really interested at first just so he can get a "better deal". He's doing the same thing by imposing his 25% tax on imported steel just before the G7 summit even though he had no good reason to and the experts tell him this is a terrible idea and that it will have a horrible effects on the economies of all countries involved including his own.
To him world politics are no different than a poker game or a used car sale. But he'll soon find out that this is not the case. This will backfire hard on him sooner or later. Hopefully it will result in him not being re-elected thanks to the pressure being put on his vote base by Canada and Europe's joint retaliatory import taxes and not into a war or a world economy collapse. Too bad many people will lose their jobs over this in the meantime though.
