Why the helmets Daft Punk?

I heard Daft Punk explain what makes them different from every other electronica cutout that's emerged over the past three decades. They probably should not have made this statement, because it really does give away much of the secret sauce, although the application still requires genius and commitment. This is their secret:

"Daft Punk - what is it about your music that makes you so successful and enduring?"

"Most of the electronica we hear sounds like humans trying to be robots. We've never seen it that way. We see ourselves as robots who are trying to be human, and that's how we approach our music."

Yes. Yes that's it - and their commitment to this approach is what makes them endure. You can literally see this vision unfold through each successive album.
