After Trump botched the Yemen Raid and got a navy seal killed 2 days into his presidency (when he famously held a banquit at Mar-a-lago and leaked Military secrets to customers present) , the military put forth legislation that allows them to carry out raids without the president.

I wouldn't want a military man as head of state. I'd prefer a businessman who spent his youth studying economics & such. Someone who can head up a large organisation and steer it in the right direction. Military men are taught to follow rules rather than assess things in a complete way. Generally speaking of course.
