I've been led to believe that the oil Trump has "taken" is being sold to the Syrian government, just like it has been for most of the war, even when ISIS was in control of it. It's this way because there simply isn't anyone else to buy it & also because of where the refinery is located. This makes me wonder what games are being played in NE Syria by the US forces. My guess is they're simply holding ground in order to prevent Syria from re-unifying. It's a blocker play, a common tactic. It's obvious the US wants to prevent the Iraq-Syria economic relationship from picking up (US has blocked both major highways between the countries for years). It aligns with the general US push to weaken Syria - people there are suffering from food & fuel shortages due to US-imposed sanctions (that are based on disinfo). It may also be a sign that the US has the intention of splitting the Kurdish region away from Syria & may look to do the same in Iraq. They've been lobbying the Kurdish Autonymous Govt in Iraq hard as a fallback zone for their troops while the Iraqi govt is pulling in the other direction. US has been given 1 year to GTFO of Iraq last I heard. So 1 year from now there could be some real fireworks.
