Sweet Sweet Dreams

X-Men: Apocalypse - Quicksilver Saves All...But One

I have this dream I keep having where I'm always in the same place, and the people there are always the same, and they know who I am and I know them, and most of what happens takes place underground and in secret pockets tucked away that no one knows about.

Since 2014 I've been going to the same general place, seeing the same people, and engaging in the same activities like 90% of the time when I dream. Most of it is under ground and indoors, with the sense that being outside is not desirable, with travel consisting of trackways and eletric trains and jerry-rigged trainbus type things, but people including me also use the tunnels on foot. It's dangerous, but an accepted risk of the conditions of life there. There are openings that pop out onto the surface, and even stations both underground and on the surface that have recognizable commercial businesses, but they are ALL food related type business. Like McDonalds, and KFC, and so on. One exception is that there's a vibrant trade in legacy computer hardware - it's extremely difficult to find let alone purchase new computer stuff. I work in a conference center hotel that has been converted into an internet-based business/office of some kind. It's not profit-based - no one works for profit. Everyone works for food and lodging. I work in a cubicle in the hotel/conference centre with a floor filled with others like me - there are five floors of cubicles, and we don't work every day. It's more like once every three days. I am on floor 4, but I've also worked on floor 2.

There's a raised tunnel walkway between the hotel part of the building and the separate conference centre part, but it's mostly gone - destroyed somehow. So you have to walk between buildings. I live in a room in the hotel, as do most of my colleagues. There's a makeshift shanty town built off a small suberb within half a kilometer. I know people there and often visit, and I have a job there as well. Not sure what it is but I think it might be security related. One time in one of the makeshift towers of shanty huts built off what we see today as regular suburban homes, there was some asshole who started shooting people at random with a crossbow of all things. I had to try to pinpoint and figure out a way to neutralize him. That was a bad dream.

All of that above sounds pretty crazy, eh? But it's also 100% true, and there's so much more - six years worth. It started when I was mistakenly prescribed seroquel due to a misdiagnosis. Look up the side effects of seroquel. I went off seroquel in early 2016, but the dreams never stopped. Every night. Same shit, different day. You could be right.

Sounds cool man, it's like living in an alternate world. Maybe you can become a God in that world.

The weird thing about it is how non-surreal the environment is when I'm there. I've experienced lucid dreaming before, but when I am dreaming in that place I'm partially aware that I am "In this place again" as though I know it's a dream, but the experience of it is nevertheless extremely tacticle to the point where god-like lucid dreaming doesn't seem to be available. It is like a parallel universe - constructed by my subconscious no doubt.
